PM from AZDesertRhino
We are going to be setting up a tent for TOR, with our banner on it, where our members can check in and out, as well as get buckets, water...etc... This will be TOR's ground zero. Judy (Rocncj) will be manning the tent. Our banner will be displayed, and there were plans for signs, but after thinking about it, I decided not to do them for this event. Our banner and tent will be more than enough. At the tent and table we will also have membership applications, tread lightly information and some other off road related info.
The plan for TOR is still to meet at 0630 overall. However, should anyone want to get up there earlier, then by all means, please do so. I'll be coming back from Phoenix and I'll lead up whomever is at the Circle K @ 6:30 AM.

are we still going to bring the grill to sell some raffle tickets?? Yes, the initial plan was to bring out the grill and sell raffle tickets. I'm not sure however how we are going to work at selling tickets if there is only one person manning the tent. Who's going to be responsible for it during the cleanup and after the cleanup while we go wheeling?

I'm kind of torn with the idea of bringing the BBQ to the cleanup. On the one side it would be excellent exposure and provide great possibilities of selling tickets. On the other side, it would kind of tacky since it's really not our cleanup, were technically just "guests". Not sure how to handle it.

I could make up some flyers or a poster to have out on the table with the information on how to enter the raffle.

I say go with a flyer for it if people are interested fine they can get a ticket. There is also word of mouth as you talk to people.

This cleanup is not our sole effort. There are many groups involved here, thus the reason I decided not to make the sign as originally planned. I think a tent, and our banner will be sufficient. We can bring the BBQ out, and just set it on the table. But again, this is not our event, and I don't want to step on anyone's toes. There has already been discussion about who gets the credit among the groups. Quite frankly, I could care less. Recognition is not as important as getting the areas cleaned up which was the primary goal to begin with. I am hoping that TOR is out in force, and we show the other groups that we mean buisness, while having fun at the same time.
After giving it some thought, I'd prefer if the BBQ did not make an appearance at the cleanup. If it was our event, I'd say otherwise, but this is a joint effort with alot of different groups and I really don't think its appropriate. We'll talk to Bob and see what he thinks, but this is my stand on it. Perhaps just flyers with information about the BBQ would suffice?

How about on the Membership Flyer we hand out thats going to direct people to our site and group, we put a small blurb(pic) on the bottom about buying tickets to win this great BBQ. It may get people to go to the site, for that. Then we only have the cost of 1 Flyer. Just my .02

That's what I just PM'd to Kyle. He said he'd make some flyers up for me when I talked to him at the last meeting. We'll take care of it.

I just got a PM from AZDesertRhino (NAXJA Chapter President) and he is in need of one or two volunteers to meet him at the Circle K to help him load the port-o-potties onto his trailer, so that they can be in place by 6 AM. I am unable to help as I will not be back in town until 6:30'ish. Can I get a volunteer or two to help out with the port-o-potties and setup in general? I know Judy (rocncj) will be there at 6 to set up our ground zero, but we need a couple other folks...

Hey Folks,
Less than 12 hours to start of this project, and I am excited about the potential turnout. If everyone shows that has said they will, this will be a good day, and hopefully, combined with NAXJA, Fish & Game, Tucson Rod & Gun Club, and the Forest Service, we can get something accomplished in a short amount of time.
I am hoping that all of the groups involved receive the credit that everyone deserves for their efforts.
C'ya tomorrow morning, bright and early. ;D

Nice work up there today, the place looks way better. I spent most of the day schlepping loads w/ Matt from game and fish, after topping off the dumpster we made a run to the dump (both of them!) then got back after everyone had already left, so I missed the trail run if you guys went. Oh well. Here's some more pics.... More Pics... More pics on Flickr!
