I'll be trail testing my new off road trailer...got it almost done tonight... just need to mount a tire... Whoever makes the run will get to see it for the first trip...should be fun...It has more ground clearance than my jeep and I am running 0 PSI in the 36" tires... ;D Very nice. Can't wait to see it. I have been toying with the idea of an off-road trailer with a BBQ setup, water tank, sink, and room to store some gear.

Lonnie, I agree with 99. I would suggest that you read the entire thread before you start making assumptions. Kyle I would suggest you listen to Lonnie! He has run all the trails in the Tucson area more times then any of you or me put together. Unless you’re doing the whole 505 you’re not really doing Gunsite Pass Trail, the 4834 is a by-pass. Food for thought - if I don't make it hope ya all have a safe and fun time. I take every bit of advice I can get. I know Lonnie is very experienced, however, I've run gunsight within the last week, and 6 times in the last few months... I ran it Sunday, and I can assure everyone that the run I am leading will be a very easy scenic run with nothing to difficult. The 4834 is a bypass and I know this...I am taking it for a reason (lesser equipped rigs) and after we are done, anyone who is up for it can go check out 505 with me.

I ain't skeered! Worst case scenario if I don't like the looks of the 505 is I turn around and go back.
From: the lesser equipped rigs group ;D

From: the lesser equipped rigs group ;D Sorry, I didn't mean it that way....there may be sections on 505 that I would not even want to run....I've only run the 505 twice.. but the other way 4 times...6 total

I mapped it out, and it looks like from 83 to Sahuarita Rd, it is 27 miles. That is including the loop that goes thru Sycamore Canyon. I can see where the trail could be rutted out going thru that loop. Reading my topo map, it looks like you are running on a shelf road, dipping down into the canyon, then a shelf road going back out.... Then again, 4834 doesn't look much better, lol. I had no idea this was soo close to my house. I live off Duval Mine and I-19. Yeah, it is 3am, and I can't sleep... I am bored Oh, I think my dad is going to bail out. He is afraid with all the rains we had, this trail will be jacked... I dunno. I for sure am still going, don't know about him, haha. I will know by the end of tomorrow. Here is a 3-D view that my mapping software generated. yeah, I am really bored That map is sweet. What mapping software do you use?

I'll be there. Although since none of my house hold goods have arrived yet I don't have any of my spare parts/tool, or even my first aid kit for that matter. Since when I shipped my jeep they made me clear it out completely.

I think I have to bail out... last minute. I was supposed to get a whole bunch of stuff done this week for my fiance, before she gets back, that I stupidly put off, and now I have no time to get it done. She comes home tomorrow, and I want to be here when she gets back. I was hoping to get back from Chivo Falls earlier than we did, and lost alot of time on that. Oh well, that was a BLAST, and a good trail to test the truck (and driver) on...considering this was my first time behind the wheel of a 4wd I am sorry. I was wanting to go, but it just isn't in the cards Maybe she and I will come out for the Mt. Lemmon run.

I know it really is last minute, but I will have an open seat tomorrow should anyone care to ride along. I only have room for one, so if anyone wants to go, they can meet at the ace and leave thier vehicle at my home during the trip. Just thought I would throw it out there... Oh, while I am thinking about it...it looks like we are going to have alot of rigs on this run IF everyone shows....WOW We will be just fine though...cannot wait until the morning...

Just got back from the run. It was excellent. We had a few breakdowns but all in all in was a great run. I'll post some pictures in the pictures section along with a trail report.
