With the recent discussions regarding what to carry on the trail, I thought I'd offer my input on the subject. Now, I understand that I am known for carrying to much stuff, but thats my personal preference, and I just like to be prepared. However, this article is aimed at each and every one of us who wheels. The items discussed here are essential for four wheeling. I've compiled this information from various sources including magazines, books, and personal experience. This article is not a complete survival guide, but rather a primer for those who wish to read it. Over the course of the coming year, I'll be getting more into survival skills, tracking, and search and rescue. I'll also be covering basic triage first aid and quick remedies in the outdoors. In another series of articles, I'll be covering trail spares, trail tools, winch safety, spotting and other 4 wheeling techniques. Now, I am not the expert on any of these topics, but I do have experience in all of them. I'll be gathering information from the web, from my book collection, and other sources... so you don't have to...
If any of you have information, fixes, survival tips and other information, this is a great place to post them (please start a new thread)...Whether its personal survival, or rig survival...lets here them. I'll do my best to post new information that can help us all on a regular basis.
