I got a d44 with springs dual flat top knuckes. Pretty much the whole axle for a $100.00 I've got a few buddies who are selling dana 44 cheap. Heck I think 99frontier has one he can sell you real cheap.

Yeah, I got one too... needs new ujoints for the axle shafts. It is a passanger drop housing. No carrier, no steering knuckles. Would let it go for 50 bux. Hell, I am just tempted to throw it away, lol.

I do not have a suggestion for the axle, but if you want to know what has been or what can be done, visit www.explorer4x4.com. This site will be a frustration and good reading all in one breath.

Nice looking rig! Are those Firestones? Just kidding of course. If you've got it, those 5.0s are pretty well built motors, with an excellent balance of torque and horespower in my opinion. And I just read an article on how well built the 8.8 rear axle is, and how to beef it up with Superior axle shafts in either Four Wheeler or 4Wheel magazine.

I run a Jeep but if you can get a D-44 to slide under that thing I think you would be much better off than with the D-35. With 35's and locked with significant power, you may be looking for trouble. IMHO.
Nice looking rig, hope to see you on the trails.

IMHO. Nice looking rig, hope to see you on the trails. Actually, the D-35 in Ford world is different...He is talking about his FRONT TTB axle. It's much stronger than the likely stock D28 TTB axle. The rear should be an 8.8.
