Last week my computer crapped out on me so I decided to upgrade. Man am I glad I did. I had no idea what I was missing. Here are the new specs.
Motherboard: Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe Processor: AMD Athlon 64 FX-62 Dual Core (2.8GHz per core) RAM: 4 Gigs of Corsair XMS2 DDR2 Video Card: GeForce 8800GTS with 320MB of RAM Hard Drive: 500 gig SATA2 Optical Drives: Samsung DVD burner OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit
Had a few issues with Vista during install but got them squared away and it runs great. Talk about fast! The processor does run a little hot but I think I just need to reconfigure my case fans and maybe get a better fan for the heatsink.

It's not a fabrication project until you've bled on it.

Sounds pretty pimp... I am still sketchy about Vista... I dunno if I like it or not.

Sounds pretty pimp... I am still sketchy about Vista... I dunno if I like it or not. Ya, it took some getting used to. What sold me were the visual effects and the extra features you get like built in automatic backup. The only thing that kinda sucks is some of my programs (like Norton Internet Security 2005) won't run. I also had to get a new wireless adapter because mine was so old. Other than that I love it.

Sounds like a nice setup, except for the vista part ;D I heard it still had quite a few bugs that needed to be ironed out, so until then I'm sticking with XP.
