I just wanted to aplogize to all who showed for the gunsight pass run today. With the weather conditions this morning and predictions for rain all day, Slick and I decided that it might not be a good idea to go out. We knew who had last stated they would definitely be in attendance and made phone calls that the run wouldn't be on, but we might have missed some people. With the board being down, we weren't able to make a general post to let everyone know about the cancellation. Apologies to any who showed up to run, and hopefully we'll catch you out next time. Especially if it doesn't decided to pour and the weather stations keep calling for more wet.

No worries. I ended up going alone in my landcruiser instead of the Blazer because of the rain. James and I waited until about 9:40. He wasn't going to make the run because of other priorities. The kids were still begging to go out to the mountains so I decided to at least go to Helvetia and try to find the ruins. I never could find them so we went ahead and ran gunsight pass from east to west. We stopped to have a picnic at the pass, but it was way to windy and cold. We went down the mountain on the west side some more and ate there. We didn't see anybody else on the trail which I thought was unusual. Didn't run into any problems. The weather was great and there was no dust out there. Just before the pass

Glad you guys had a good time, even if you had to go it alone. I truly apologize for that. Had we known the weather was going to turn like it did, would have said screw it and gone anyways, but the report I got was for rain all day. We'll have to plan it again sometime and get you out to the ruins and the old mine site.
