i have a new rte motor in my truck (around 2500-3000 mi), its been real rough to start and just this morning i had tons of white smoke pouring through the exhaust, there was actually so much it leaked through my turbo and out my air intake. most all of the smoke clears away within a minute or two (when the motor starts warming up). eventually almost all the smoke is gone which leads me to believe its just my gasket and not a crack in the head. anyone have any ideas? the dipstick isnt showing any sign of water in the oil but when i pulled up my breather (on the pcv valve) i had some water...along with my exhaust leaking a little too.

It's possible it's just the head gasket. Gotta love a yota! I would recommend though when you pull the head to replace the gasket, have it checked for any warpage just to be on the safe side of things.

Do a compression check on all the cylinders. If you have much of a leak It should show up there. Did you get it hot? Sound's like you should stop driving it till is figured out.

If you need help changing a head gasket, I have done 3 of em and am real proficient with the 22R motor.

If your oil looks like a chocolate milkshake, then you probably have an internal coolant leak, i.e. headgasket. Might as well replace it...just to be safe...
I definitely wouldn't drive the thing until you figure out what is up. wouldn't want to warp the head or worse, the block... just my .02
