Myself and Steve(not sure of his board name, but he has the white landcruiser) were talking about running the Gap this weekend. Neither one of us has ever ran it so was wondering if anyone else was up for running it. We were thinking about maybe a late saturday run like hit the trail around 3 or so and then hit the other side where the pavement begins around dark or just before. Or maybe if there is no intrest for saturday, maybe sunday morning. Anyone else up for running the gap?

Definately not gonna do it saturday, got the blm project and an event for the AF later in the evening. Possibly Sunday though, would like to make it back out there and give "the step" another go with the tranny working much better. Let me know what your plans end up being.

I'll be tied up with the BLM project, but I will say that if neither of you have ever ran the gap, its a very long trail and has changed ALOT in the last four months. Some spots are kinda tricky, and I would not go without someone who knows the trail, not to mention knowing where to go... If you decide to go, post up and if we don't hear anything, I'll come looking for you. We should be back in town from the BLM project by 2:30. If you start the trail at 3 PM, you'll hit hte far end around 9 PM (if your moving fast)... Unless you know where the step is, you'll pass it...its not on the main trail.... I would not recommend running a 4.0+ trail, for the first time, in the dark... just my .02.

It was just too late of a notice and we didn't want to go by ourselfs seemings how neither of us have done that trail. Hopefully sometime in the near future, TOR will do another run up there and i will have to go then.

Dont think i have anything going on that saturday. I would be up for running the gap for sure. And maybe if there is anyone else interested, how about turning it into a camping trip?

If you guys get some interest be sure to post it in the trail run planing section. Once it is posted there i'll add it to the upcoming trail runs if you want.

I would like to keep this run to under 15 people since it really is a long trail and difficult in a few places. I enjoyed the last run with all the rigs but this trail is more challenging and it would be nice to have less than 20 rigs with us.

But if we do camp, we wont be that worried about time seemings how we would be staying the night out there. But i would be way surprised if we got 5-8 rigs willing to camp out, let alone 15-20. I say we have kyle put it in the upcomming trail runs section because i know of some guys who are not very active on the board that would be up for running the gap. Not sure if they would want to camp though. Lets try and get it together Jason. Sounds like it could be a lot of fun.

Ya i was thinking if we do actually get enough people to camp then we shouould head out a little later in the day so we dont cover the whole trail the first day. Find a nice spot to camp, not in a wash in case we get a little unexpected rain...comon guys theres gotta be a few of you that wanna do this trail. Probably the best trail here in Tucson!
