Well on the Chivo run, it came to my attention that I had some problems transmitting, and it was not operator error, I could receive just fine, I was even copying the guy down in Tucson that was wanting to see how far out he could reach. So this morning I hooked up the SWR meter. I think I found my problem, channel 1 was almost at 3.0 and channel 40 was about 1.5. So if I remember correctly that can means my antenna is short. For right now I might just raise it with a spring and see if that helps and replace the coax, since I have no idea how old that coax is, it was pulled off another truck. But I'm not a big fan of the springs for off road on a Jeep or going down the highway with the top off, at least in my YJ the turbulance would make it spin like a helicopter rotor. Or might replace the coax and get a new 4 foot antenna, since I'm running with a 3 footer now.

Well did alittle more troubleshooting and found that my transmitter in the cb was fried. Just got the new one installed and checked and now I'm back on the air and ready for the next run.
