First off, I'd like to say....
AWESOME PHOTOS ROB.... I think we should make him the club photographer....great shots...
I'll leave the trip report to K5, but I'll post a carnage list.
Almost Hydrolocked A Motor Spark Plug Wire Torn Apart Warn 8274 Winch Motor (Armature Fried, I think it got water in the motor and it shorted out when I was pulling with it) Hard Brake Line Cracked and leaked. Front Toyota Axle Loose Steering Linkages (Both Jamb Nuts on my YJ were loose allowing the drag link to slowy turn out...) Hand Throttle Stuck
You would think that for such an easy run, there would not have been all of this breakage...guess it goes to show that you can break anywhere...
Humsoever, this is the most fun I've had on a run in a long time. This is a GREAT group of people and a GREAT forum. I am excited about making the next run...now I just to get all of my junk fixed... lol

That looked like fun... How late were you guys out till? Wish I would have been able to make it.
Was most of the trail easy and laid back? My dad bailed because he thought the washes would be really bad...

Rob, This photo is AWESOME.... Oh and the ribbing begins... Isn't that right about where the blazer got stuck? You said you wanted an action shot, and I was sitting at a great angle to catch your Jeep with the Tucson Off Road lettering clearly in view just as you were getting into the deep stuff. And yes, that's where the white Blazer got stuck.

I had a great time. This is a good group to run with. I will try real hard not to slow you guys down next time.
Archangel, that is exactly the same spot that my blazer got stuck! I am never following you into a pond again!
Thanks again for all your help and patience with "Old Iron." I now have all my fluids to change out and a brake line to fix. Looks like a few mods are needed in the near future (tires?)

I have got access to a lot of ABS fittings if you need it ;D Thanks, but its not he ABs thats the problem. The flexible hose between the snorkel and the air box is the problem...I just need to find a better way to route the house and also get a better quality hose. I'll keep you in mind though if I need some more ABS fittings.

Hi, first forum post here ;D I am leading a group of friends from Expedition Portal through this trail on Sat. Can you provide a trail condition report? I have been through this trail several times, but the recent rains likely ate things up. We will have several stock vehicles on the trip. Thanks so much for any insight!

Assuming the rains haven't further eaten the trail (bad assumption with all the rain!), then you all should be fine unless you have a stock-height Honda Passport with steprails in your group. Mine got hung up on some rocks, though with some creative rock placement was finally able to make it down the rocky dropoffs. Otherwise most of the trail was in good condition and easily passable.

As Slick said, as long as the recent rains havn't washed any more of the trail you should be fine. The spot that slick got hung up is at the bottom of the trail on the north side. It wasn't too bad. We did have to place some rocks to get him through but another guy with a stock 06 tocoma with the TRD package made it through no problem. Hope to see you on the trail.
