There will be a Reddington run this weekend on July 1st if anyone is interested. This will be a fairly tame run since not everyone going will have 4wd.
We will be meeting at 8:30am at the last Circle K on Tanque Verde. If anyone does not know where this is please send me a private message or email and I will give you directions. If you are planning on going please post in this topic so we know how many people to expect.

You mean to tell me that golf is more important than off-roading

From what I understand, the basic run is pretty tame. I've got a 2wd truck and have been told I should be fine. There are more complicated sections for the adventurous, but my aim is a group meet and a tame run to check my truck. Oh, and to have some fun!!

This run will be tame. I was thinking we could do the Beyota Ranch trail. This trail is very easy. There are some challenging areas but they have bypasses. There is a "lake" that we can stop at and check out if there is water. There is also "Chimney Rock" which is pretty cool. It has a bunch of big rocks and the terrain is similar to Moab. The entire trail is about 10 miles long give or take a mile. I have not done the entire trail. I have been as far as "Chimney Rock" which is about halfway and that is definitely doable with a 2wd. Once we get there we can decide whether or not to continue on the rest of the trail. There are also plenty of other fairly tame trails that we can run if we have enough time.

The remaining portion east of Chimney Rock would not be adviseable for a 2wd rig. I ran it last weekend, and a good majority of it runs through a wash, steep uphills, and loose downhills...not recommended. I've ran every trail out there, so if you need a hand finding some tame spots, I can help out. I'm planning on being there at 8:30 AM Sat morning. Another great trail to consider is south of town going towards sonotia (sp?) is gunsight pass...fairly easy trail with breathtaking views... c'ya all saturday!

Thanks for the info. I've run the front portion of Gunsite pass. It is a fun trail and you can check out the ruins of Helvetia. See you on Sat.

You mean to tell me that golf is more important than off-roading Not that golf is more important, or more fun, but the fact that someone else has already paid for my entry into the golf, and poker tournament

Would love to join you guys, but I am off to Denver early in the AM. I think most of my trips are going to start coming again in the fall. Have a little work to do on the Trooper before I get out there again. I need new tires, have a popping CV, lift is on the way, and steel fort he sliders should be in middle of August. But, I will keep an eye out, and if there is a trip that is doable for me time wise, I will be in for sure.
