I am in search of some box rectangular steel. 2" x 3" to build my trailer for the trip in November. Now, I know I can go and buy it from Santa Rita steel, but I was hoping someone on here has a better source for the steel or perhaps even has some laying around. I can use any scraps as long as they are at LEAST 6' long...
Thanks In Advance for any help.

I've purchased some pretty decent steel from the place on 36 st. It's right near that Greyhound dog track.
You might get lucky there.

What cross street on 36th? I've never been "down by the dog track", and I am looking for steel also. Thanks.

Actually called this now> (most of us still call it Steel from the old days) Tucson Iron & Metal 690 E 36th St, Tucson, AZ 520-547-4775 Head south off of 22nd towards the Dog Track, turn east at the street (36th) right before the track. Can't miss it. Since the move from over by the PC jail they have gotten a lot less friendly about you tromping around, but, good news is they have a better inventory record of what is on site. Obviously you will not find full 20' sticks there unless it's some oddball, rusted thing that no one needs, but I have found some decent sections there in the past.
Also, If you are not famialer with that part of town, you are missing out on some pretty darn good food.
