Hey guys I need some help as you guys know I have a 98 Yota. I want to do an SAS. Now under the idea that all yota's where the same t-case (DON'T LAUGH) with Pass side front drop well I went a looked for a few months for a chevy axle. I lucked out 75-78 chevy dana 44 with dual flat top kunckle (Sweet) Then I jump under my truck to plan out the project and well (please don't laugh) I notice something wrong. I guess I forgot that in 95 they switched from pass front diff to driver side diff. Yeah i know I win the knuckle head award for that one.
Well now I'm looking for a ford or a jeep d44 with a driver side diff. I looking to trade the one I have for the other one. The wife won't be happy if I have two axles sittin in the garage. Please help this IFS has to go. And somebodys has one at a fair price i may consider that to.

Do yourself a favor as only a few fords actually had flat top knuckles. Find the axle you need, and if needed, swap the knuckles.

keep posted on the sas project. i am going to swap mine as well. But, about the axel, if you really want to dump some money, you can always go with an axel out of an 84 or 85 yota and then put a 4:1 transfer case in. otherwise those axels wont do you any good. But i must say, my buddy has an 85 yota with the 4:1 and that thing is bad. he is sitting on 40" irocks and he makes everything at three fethers look lame.

Hey 2000taco don't forget if you going to do an sas to find a drivers side diff. axle 95 and newer are driver and if you try to run a pass. (toy or not) your going to run into modify your exhaust. Which makes for more of a head ache. Anything is possible but the way I think about it is, what ever will keep my trucks down time a minum is the way I want to go.

hey taco do yourself a favor and just buy a jeep with a straight axle already in it!!!!!!!!! j/k dont get mad because after a solid front and some other mods, my toyota will be just as capable as your JEEP. As long as i can "let em hang" to follow you. oh and the time issue, who knows how long this process could take.

he makes everything at three fethers look lame. That's cause everything at 3-feathers is lame. A rig like that should be up in FJ!!! Find either a Waggy front D44 or some of the old ford F150's ran a high pinion driver drop D44 which would work. Just make sure the axle has the welded on C's for the radius arm set-up the old Fords had. The cast-in C's won't work unless you re-tube.
