Hey guys, Got my new CB this morning... Picked up a Cobra 25 Night Watch LTD Classic. I like this thing, its like half the size of my old radio. For now, its mounted up on the roof, but I might reloacate it to the dash, and run an external speaker. For now, this works. If I get bored, I might research how to tweak and peak it, but for now, **gasp** stock is okay Here's a coupla shots taken with my camera phone: Driver's side: Passanger's side: View from the driver's seat:

The Cobra 25 Night Watch LTD Classic is a good unit. Probably a better fit in my truck, but I always seem to go with the full chassis. I have a Cobra 148 GTL (Stock) and a Uniden Grant XL ( slight mods). I'm still trying to figure out how to mount the full chassis in my truck. Maybe even a kicker.

Post a pic if you got one please. No, its an older unit, but it works better than my Cobra...you can come out anytime and look at it. In the mean time until you get one, you can borrow this one all you want.

99frontierxe, that looks good. i am also in the market and have been looking around, but i dont know much about cb's. All i want is a basic setup i guess, just one that will allow me to communicate with everyone else out on the trails.

Mine is as probably as simple, (and reliable) as they can become for as little as it costs... I picked it up on Ebay for $108 shipped. For an antenna, I am using a Wilson 1000 Roof-top mount whip. It works really well, I just need to get my SWR tuned. Anyone local have a SWR meter?

If someone wants a small cb, I would go with something like the Uniden Pro510XL ($55.00), the Pro520XL (if you want instant ch 9 and the PA functions, $69.00) or the Pro538W (looks nice because it has the NOAA Weather Channel). I bought my wife the older 510XL and it worked good for her, but I also had it peaked and tweaked.
The prices were only a quick search.

I would be interested in picking that antenna up James, will have to figure out a good time to come by someday. I'm doing some work on Slick1100's rig Wednesday night, so if you want to swing by then, we could probably look at your trackbar too. All we are doing to slicks rig is hooking up some fog lights.... We could at least take a look at your trackbar situation and determine the best course of action...
