I know that I am new here, but I wanted to add my 2 pennies about something. I love seeing the grocery gettters stuck out in the middle of a running wash, sitting on the hood of their trail rated or military inspired stock 4x4. (So long as everyone is safe)
Ya notice ya never see wheelin' rigs stuck in big running water. I have two ideas about that. Either our rigs are built well enough to cross or we realize the capabilities of our rig and avoid the mess we know we will be cleaning out of them.
I like to think it is the later. I won't be able to go for a ride tomorrow as I am on call for work. All that I ask is that you give some thought to your trip and trail this time of year. I would hate to think how much slack you might catch on this board (and others) if you are seen on the news, sitting on the hood of your capable rock crawler, 38 inch tires with water up to the fenders.
Be safe this weekend, pay attention to those fast moving storms (the family and I just about got washed off of Ina yesterday in the wife's trail rated Lib), and keep your tires on the dry rocks.

I think this is definitly something that we should take into consideration, especially this time of year.

The one thing that people don't realize just because it is not raining where you are at does not mean that you couldn't get the aftereffects. Also i think that some people build up their trucks and they think that they cannot be stopped because they have this real high 4x4 and it does good on the street, but they find out different when something bad happens on the trail.
