This thread will track the progress on The Blazer. It'll probably be a few years until its completely finished as I'm currently in college and pretty much broke most of the time ;D (you know the whole "Starving Student" thing) but it will get there.
When I first got The Blazer it was pretty beat up. The list of things wrong with it is too long to go over. The most memorable problems were:
* The spark plugs were all hand tightened.
* The big nut that screwed onto the spindle and held the front left rotor assembly onto the truck was only halfway on and had been screwed on with a screwdriver and hammer so the threads were completely stripped. (I ended up cutting new threads with a hacksaw so I could get the nut back on.)
* The motor and tranny were bad.
The first thing I fixed was the spindle and the spark plugs. I then moved onto the transmission and the most recent fix was a new GM 350 crate motor.
Somewhere along the way I got the soft top for it and had the seats reupholstered.
At the moment the front end is getting all new bushings and ball joints. Now I don't have to worry so much on the trail
.
The next thing will be the linkage for the transfer case and a new carburetor.
