Hey Guys,
I wrote the Trail Rules & Etiquette section, but I wanted to see if there was anything else anyone wanted to ad. Post your replies here, and if the suggestions posted have enough validity, I'll add it to the section. This is a family oriented board and I'd like to see it stay that way, so post up what you think would make a good rule...

I thought of this when you posted about your AR15 and .50 cal. I am all for guns and bringing them along on the trail (I will probably bring a 30-30 along in November). I just think that anyone who brings them needs to be responsible with them. And that they shouldn't think that the trail run is just an expedition to go shooting. Just my .02 cents.

Thats a good point, and I'll look into that. I never bring my guns unless its for protection. And you'll never see me pull them out unless I need them. I just don't shoot them off for no reason...

I'm not saying YOU would ;D but I've been out with other guys that all they want to do is shoot and screw around. Like you said, I think this should be a family oriented forum and we should keep it that way. See you on the 5th!

No, I've been known to do some shooting here and there, but never when there are families and kids around. I bring them for protection most often... Guns are not toys...

Great points made on the fire arms,as everytime I go out I carry.Did have an issue a few years ago with someone drinking and pulling a gun in camp (this was an overnight)run well everyone in the group had the same thoughts and we haven't seen him or looked for on another run.Glad it was added to the trail rules.

Now that's hard to beat wheeling and shooting! As an avid hunter, I do enjoy my guns. Speaking of that Dove season opens in September! And I have not gotten to go in the last 2 years I have been in Kuwait looking forward this year! ;D

I think that is a good rule There have been several times that I have been out camping, and have bullets whizz over my head. Kinda scary hearing those rip thru the air right by you.

Have had a few experiences with people camping drinking and pulling guns and its no good, i agree bring them for protection and be responsible. Im sure whenever the time comes that we all end up going on a camping trip everythign will be fine lets all just be responsible since there will probably be families with us.

The one's I am scared are the one's who just buy a gun for protection and don't know the fist thing about them and leads to having no respect for them, then add drinking to the equation and that is when things happen.

I always carry a gun on me at all times. Sometimes on my person, and sometimes just in the truck. But you will rarely ever see it on my person (CCW) unless I am just wearing my Ruger P-89D on my hip. It is sometimes fun to just get a little practice in, but only under SAFE conditions, and only if it was a preplanned event.

I'm all for the gun rule. I've considered carrying while exploring for personal protection, nothing more.
