I am going somewhere, don't know where at though. ;D I am thinking the Gap at least and maybe Rice peak or another trail time permitting. A warning though. I like the more difficult stuff a lot. That is what I am looking for and this trip is also a Scouting trip, pun intended as I will have visitors coming down from CO the 2nd weekend in March that does need some more damage on his built TJ. The last time I got him a broken D44 ARb, busted rear tailight, ripped his licence plate and almost removed his flairs. That is my idea of a good time.

If I was around I'd be game, if I could keep up! I'm in Idaho though, about to go snowboarding for nine days, should be fun. Hope you have a good time and find some folks to drag along.

Rice peak is not that hard"unless done in the snow or a full size on the switch backs"for your friends coming down.It does have one hell of a veiw at the top. I never ran the gap and don't think my rig is worthy.AS in Road worthy shape for it.It has it's moments I hear.

The Gap isn't that tough. With the exception of the wall on the Catalina side and the Step which is bypassably the trail isn't that bad. Some boulder fields in the river that with carefull driving are not bad. I was just there a couple weeks ago.

Switch backs are a Zero issue for me. No problem no matter how tight. ;D So, Then what is the most difficult trail around the Tucson area? I have wheeled FJ and a lot of the Porn star stuff at Table Mesa. I used to live 20 miles from TM. Just need a trail locally to rock rash a Jeep.

Sutherland Trail is pretty decent, its out near The Gap. You can make things difficult on the Gap though depending on what lines you take, if you just run the normal trail though its not much of a challenge a stock vehicle could do it for the most part, scotts stock TJ did fine out there open front and rear and with sway bars connected. If you want a challenge though go play out in FJ

If you want a challenge though go play out in FJ I am only interested in "wheeling" around Tucson right now. I have been to FJ too much along with Table Mesa. I need a change. ;D I am going to Ash Canyon Saturday also, no wheeling, just being a nosey bastard. When you go wheel the 4.5-5 stuff, I trailer the rig. Take this advise. Even though I have never been completely disabled, when you wheel the hard core stuff, it is very reassuring to know all you have to do is make it to the trailer. Especially if you roll and tear your Jeep all to hell.

I ran the gap in my fullsize Ram and only got one dent. I have open diffs front and rear and did everything except the Step. I might want to go do a fairly easy run this weekend but Sunday I am going up to Fribird to see the NHRA testing.

Well then if you want somewhat of a challenge for a local trail here in Tucson go do the Sutherland Trail. Gets more challenging towards the last 3 miles of trail or so and when you get to the top you have to turn around. Maybe with your rig you can keep going past the waterfall but it gets a pretty challenging past that part. Hope you find something to wheel.
