We left out of Tucson around 3pm last Friday to meet up with Zulu down at Parker Canyon.(Slick,Docchaos,Wheeler, and Rstep) The Chero had a bad week of engine tuning so the trip down was rough after some brain storming and switching of vaccum lines (owner error) it was ready for some wheeling. The road trip part is very scenic straight down r83 to you hit the lake. Friday night Wheeler cooked you some burgers and we had some surprise guest come threw 8 large wild turkeys. Saturday after eating we headed out for Sunnyside Ghost town about a 7 mile round trip. The trail is mild however Zulu managed to get air under his Travelall 3tons of rig in the air interesting. After walking around the ghost town area and survaying the trash left by others we headed back to base camp to park the travelall and take the three smaller rigs on a second trail. This area is covered in trails rangeing from2 to 3.5.The Doc got to run the trail with the RC and did very well with it,well there was a rock. The area we chose to run was also the area's the forest service were doing controled burns in which made for a few interesting moments, stop to wait and there's a burning log next to you.As we got to the end of the trail both Doc and I where having temp rises in the rigs so we opted to call it a day and we headed out to the lake to finish our run. Saturday at supper Doc got a scare from again another guest this time a javelina. Slick should have some of the wheeling pics.

Okay, so guess I need to fess up about the rock... Had a big rock on the left and a low hanging branch on the right. I climbed over the rock, at the same time the branch smacked Slick's window. Came off said rock a little hard and ops checked the rock sliders. Took a little paint, but ops check good! Maybe I should just stay away from rocks that aren't firmly planted in the ground? Not to mention getting told to "Back up, you're out of the obstacle and I missed the flex shot!" And when you're walking outside with a good dinner on your plate and something starts rustling in a bush right in front of you, everyone's lucky I didn't scream and throw my plate. Silly little piggy. But all in all a good weekend of fun.

Was a great weekend. Who ever would have thunk that a 6400lb truck could fly.

It was a great weekend, and an awesome way to ring in my 30th birthday. No, I didn't tell anyone until we were out there, but I didn't want the trip to be about me. Awesome scenery down there. I've got my digital pics on the 'puter, but still haven't uploaded them (there are alot!!). I'll try to get off my lazy arse and get 'er done soon.

Here's a few teaser shots. I was playing with three cameras at times; Bob's got his, and there are those on the 35mm that will have to be scanned, plus even more pics that need to be uploaded from my digital. Whew!! Sunset as seen on the first night the Chero flexing for a shot The RC going through the same spot with Amy at the wheel group shot near Sunnyside a friend of Bob's? sunset at the lake And yes Ernie, bricks can fly! You should have been there for the Continental rescue. It does tickle me to hear my rig called "small." ;D

It really is beautiful down there. I've been down in that area three times now; the first on my bike and we turned around when we hit gravel, the second in my Subaru when we went all the way to the lake, and finally to the lake and around on some trails with the RamCharger.
