Hey, I met quite a few of you on the Chiva adoption/ memorial run.
My daughter and I had a great time and look forward to some more trail time down the way.
Now I just need to add some flex (and more armor).

I like the newer Xterras and Fronties. Would have liked to have met you. I saw your rig in a couple of the pics, and thought, "Cool! Another Nissan!!!" Haha.

The overall layout and the stout 4.0 make them a really good starting platform. I was amazed at how easy the brake/ throttle modulation was over some pretty hairy rock situations. But, it is very easy to drive with both pedals. On the other hand Nissan kinda dropped the ball with the axle arangement. If it had a live coil over axle front and rear it would be taken very seriously as an offroad contender. Oh well, nothing the junkyard and a few hours on the welder can't fix.

They really dropped the ball with aluminum differentials, and a weak rear Dana 44. You're right about the junkyard fix, lol. That's what I did. My daily driver is a 1999 Nissan Frontier, that started life as a 2wd rig. I did a 4wd conversion, and performed a solid axle swap. Still a work in progress, as I need crawler gears and lockers. You can check out some of my more recent pics here: www.piratepathy.com/sandbag/Chivo%20Falls%204-15-07/Also, check out www.nissan4wheelers.com for LOTS of info on the Nissan trucks
