Been checking out TOR site for quite some time. Also been trying to sell a Harley, off and on for a while to fund a Jeep. ( one toy at a time rule) A couple of days ago ended up trading bike for Jeep. Ended up with a little cash to boot. I'm pretty new to four wheeling and to Az. Lived on the east coast and drove on the beaches some. ( only two rules applied, air down tires, and don't turn too sharp in deep sand) Hope to be able to attend some runs and learn to use my new rig. First must take care of a few issues. Currently getting ready to change all fluids, check brakes, fix minor leaks, re-pack bearings, etc. etc. etc. Oh yea about the Jeep. 85 CJ-7 hardtop, 40k original miles, appears to hardly ever been off-road, 383 small block chevy, 999 auto, 4 in. lift, 33s, . Some items quoted to me but not verified yet are 456 gears with lockers in the amc 20 and dana 30. Sounds like a recipe for desaster. It works pretty well right now and only time and money will beef up weaknesses.

Welcome to the board, and congrats on the "toy." We are always wheelin. As a matter of fact, I was tossing the idea of maybe going to Chivo Falls on Sunday. Have to clear it with the boss (aka wife) first. Hope everything works out. There are tons of good people on here, and we are always willing to help another wheeler when needed. There are a couple of us (myself included) that do alot of fabrication, so if you ever need bumpers, sliders, etc. Just post up. We typically work for beer and a couple bux to the shop funds,

Welcome to TOR! As 99frontierxe said, if you need any help with fabrication or mechanics just post up. We have plenty of folks who are always willing to help out a fellow wheeler.

Welcome to the group! Sounds like a fun project you've picked up. I'll wrench and wire up just about anything, though I'm currently moving to another house so all my toys are packed. Hope to see ya on the trails soon!

Thanks for the welcome and fabrication info. I have pretty good wrenching skills. Mechaniced for 20 years. Cars, boats, then harleys. Must take care of mechanical stuff on Jeep first. I am interested in front and rear bumpers and a small roof rack in the future. Also would like to have axle tubes stitch welded to center hsg. on rear axle. Before I go any where though, I need full size spare, hi-lift jack, CB, fire ext. tow straps, tow hooks, etc. etc. the list goes on.

Welcome....always looking for more people to go wheeling with. Best prices for some of the stuff you're needing - Sportman's Warehouse for the high-lift jack and Walmart for the fire extinguisher. Good luck and hope to see you on the trails soon.
