I'm Sean. I drive a 1989 Jeep XJ 4.0l with around 5" of lift, cut fenders, 31's (would have 35's, but haven't regeared yet and someone decided I needed new tires under warranty, so they slashed them), and lots of misc. mods.
Currently, she sits and waits in the driveway with a coolant leak from the back of the engine. If anybody would like to come by and help me separate the engine/trans this weekend... ;D

Thanks guys! Wow, just like a support group for trail addicts. I still don't know what it is. It leaks only through the bellhousing. I cleaned most of the grease off, ran it up to temp, let it leak while running, shut her down, mirror and flashlight - dry up top near the gasket as far as I could tell with my fingers. I've got most of the bolts loose, except the top ones. The sun keeps running out on me after I get home from work and the weekends are spontaneous, especially with X-mas. I got the exhaust pipe out of the way along with the driveshafts and I had to adjust the e-brake cables - WHOA! DUH! I have an oil catch can for the CCV/airbox/blowby and it looked like a leftover milkshake. Since I just put it on and went to empty it after the leak happened, I don't know if it's just condensation or a problem. The oil is clear on the dipstick. I stuck my finger in the filler hole - no coolant and it doesn't smell like coolant. The coolant I caught in a bucket underneath shows no sign of oil. I replaced the head gasket about 8 years ago when I had the head reworked. Maybe I'm just hoping too much that it's only a freeze plug. I'll find out this weekend. Riding a bike to work is fun and healthy...but it's getting cold before sunrise! Everybody's welcome to come by. I quit drinkin', but beer's OK - I might even chip in. I've got tools and even an 8.8 rear with discs and new leafsprings to put on if anybody gets bored. Call 307-1141 if you're interested in the Adopt-a-Crazyman program. My wife thanks you for your support. Oh yeah, and donations are always accepted!
