Trail Name: The trails around Gardner Canyon Trail Location: North of Patagonia Date: 2/9/07 through 2/10/07 Meeting Location: Roadrunner gas/convenience store. SE corner of Sahuarita and Houghton. (From my understanding follow houghton til you see the store at the intersection any other questions, call Christine it was her idea ) Meeting Time: 2:30 Dearture Time: 3:00 ish Communication: CB Channel 4 Trail Rating: 2.5 Necessary Items: food, water, proper hiking gear, firewood A Little More Info: Here's a nice relaxing run. Not much for the rock-crawlers the way I understand, but a good family outing for those who enjoy the smooth and scenic. I've not done these trails myself, but understand it is quite scenic, and there are many trailheads for hiking. Since we got the message that Gardner Canyon itself is now an ATV/Dirtbike trail, we're going to do a bit of explorations within that area to see what's out there. Scott and Jason have done some prelim work for us and found a bunch of trails that will be should be good for running. Campsite friday night is still TBA, if we don't have one posted up by then , you know the CB channel and we'll have our cells, Saturday is for playing. Attendees: 1. slick and doc 2. rocktoy 3. zjeep 4. scooterd58 5. K5 6. Rstep 7. Archangel (for dinner) 8. zj95 9. waywest 10.

Ok, Jason and Scott have fresh info that the trails to Gardner and Cave canyons are closed. So, looks like this run is done before it started.

Well slick those 2 trails are closed but there is plenty of other trails in the same location out there with great camping spots everywhere. Like that side trail that everyone could enjoy it goes out for at least 10 miles in one direction and there is endless trail turnoffs also a Kentucky Camp out there that we didnt find because it was dark but would be cool to check out in the day time somewhere out there. Scott and I were thinking that if i have that weekend of the 10th off we might head up friday and camp out and wait for you guys to show up on saturday if you didnt want to camp. Just some ideas, but sorry about the gardner canyon trail being closed

Shoot, I'd be up for camping Friday night. Seeing the map Scott sent me, there should still be plenty to explore despite the closures. I'll defer to Scott and Jason, since they have a bit better working knowledge of the area than me, as far as planning the route in to the area and setting up camp for the night.

Gotta talk my boss into letting me out early on friday , that'll kind of determine what time slick and I will be leaving/camping out. Unfortuantely it can get interesting on occasion. Definitely up for it though. ;D

Ok, for me and Doc it comes down to what time she can get off work. Earliest would be 4, which gets us to the Triple-T shortly after 5. If you guys want to go ahead we can meet up, but I would need to know how to get to the campsite. Also, I've got a camp stove to try out, but a chord of wood would be a good idea too. I really don't want to have to hack up another dead limb! I can pick some up unless someone else has any.

Ok, Amy is planning on making some Tuscan white bean... uh.. I can't remember the whole thing, so let's just call it white bean chilli. Should be plenty for everyone to have some Friday night.

Okay, so to clarify this, before people get scared of it, it's tuscan white bean with sausage and sage. Supposed to be stew but serves more like a chili. Not spicy, but does have a good bit of garlic in it.

So should we save you some chow? What time is the SOS (JUST KIDDING) gonna be ready? It's coming pre prepared, so all that has to be done is heat and serve. I'm crazy, not stupid. ;D
