Started this yesterday... The frame and supports for the table is made from 2x2 1/8th wall square tube... approx 70' worth. The top (haven't bought it yet) is 1/4" plate. Main table surface area is going to be approx 4'x6' with a recessed side for my chopsaw... the top of the saw will sit flush with the table. So far, I am in $140 for the square tube, and the top will run $250 or so. The table will weigh close to 500lbs when I am done. I wanted to go this heavy duty, because I plan on welding to the table top to make jigs, etc... then grind em off when I am done. Plus, there are plans for a hydro bender, and I'd like to be able to use this table for that too I was gonna work on it some more today, but decided to go for a bike ride instead. Here's the pics of the table top support frame. Pretty beef. Also, there's a shot of what's left of 70' of steel, as well as a couple pics of my bike that I wanted to throw in there just because.

Soo, after you left Bob, I got back to working on my table. I got 3 of the 4 legs cut, then my chop saw died. Yep, spun the shaft in the motor. You can physically hold the blade, and pull the trigger, and the motor just revvs. I might pull it apart, and see if any of it is salvageable, but not too excited about it. So, yesterday, I went to Sears, and picked up a new DeWalt chop saw. This thing is 10x better than my POS Harbor Frieght one, haha. Hopefully, I will get to use it today after work; provided it isn't rediculously hot out. The goal is to have it welded, primed and painted by this weekend. Then, maybe, I can order the 1/4" plate. I dunno.

Here are just a couple pics from today's progress. The frame is pretty much done, just have to plate the top, and figure something out for the shelf. I was going to use some expanded steel that I used on an old project, but I pretty much destroyed it trying to salvage it... I may just use some MDF board or something for the shelf.
