I decided to jump on the RC crawler bandwagon too. Our own Scooter58 made another great looking chassis, thanks Scott. With lots of info from James and Christine, I think all of the parts are now here and ready for assembly. To be different, I decided to go with a '34 Ford pickup body with some chrome 5 spoked wheels (for the bling factor). The build up will start up tomorrow, we'll take pictures throughout the process.
A lot of parts....

Well, its 11:47 and I am done for the evening on the crawler. Austin & Christine left about an hour ago, but I continued on with a few minor details. The crawler is now a painted body, rolling chassis, with steering installed. I've just got to finish the electronics for controls, and then begin working on the siren, rollcage and lights.... yep, you read that right...This rig will have an audible, working siren, as well as flashing lights...just for Austin....
Anyway, here are the photos I got tonight..

UPDATES....Yep, I spent a little time and started working on the cage..if only 1:1 were this easy to bend up. This is giving me motivation to build my tuber...I've got dimensions now...
Anyway, here are tonights progress pics. I had the sound system and lights mounted, but I took them out while I am working on the cage... A front stinger as well as fender reenforcement...
The body looks really dirty, and thats mostly just my greasy finger prints form the steel and dirt...It will clean up nicely when its finished... The flat spot on the top of the cage is for a light bar, that will actually work when this is all done!

Well, electronics are in for the most part, and tested. The rig did move under its own power, just need to to get the reversing circuit for the 4 wheel steering as the attempted mod didn't work that we had planned. So right now, we have power, but no steering.
Also got the cage painted black, and it really blends in nicely with the body. All thats left is body mounts, the sound system, the lights, and a little tuning... However, no more photos will be posted until Tuesday, when I deliver it to Austin at the meeting.
;D He'll just have to wait!

See what I mean Austin......we pay for all the parts.....and then we have to wait. No fair, huh? Fortunately, the wait is usually well worth it.....anxious to see your new "toy".
